given that he was even sent to the States for a training camp? i mean, why would SMB waste a huge amount of money if they dont have any plans of making him play? last elims, he was inserted from time to time, kaya lang, we all know how full of a roster San Miguel has, kailangan nya lang maghintay. hindi naman sha pinapabayaan or what.

well, just my opinion, has no hard feelings naman on Eman's transfer, nakakabigla lang. Wink

i agree with this, sana naghintay na lang si sam, nasa retiring stage na din naman sina DI at dorian eh, the next big man na lang nila is mick and mike holper, then jwash na, imagine , si jonas ganun din, ang tagal din nyang nag antay, nauna pa sya nun kay LA pero mas ginamit pa si LA kumpara sa kanya, kung di pa na injured si mike cortez di pa gaganda laro nya..

im no against with eman, pero seeing him on the court, parang nagiging liability pa sya, sya na din ang nagsabi na tumatagal na sya sa PBA pero  bat ganun? parang di pa din nya alam ang sistema sa SMB?

i hope lang na gumanda nga ang laro nya sa alaska, wish him all the best..

Gabe leads returning PBA imports

IMPORTS, who previously made a good impression in the Philippine Basketball Association, will be back for another tour of duty in the coming Fiesta Conference.

Gabe Freeman, currently playing for the Philippine Patriots in the Asean Basketball League, will backstop the defending champion San Miguel Beermen anew.

Anthony Johnson of Sta. Lucia Realty, Jai Lewis of Rain or Shine and Chris Porter of Barangay Ginebra are some of the old reliables ready to strut their wares beginning March 20.

But Coca-Cola has decided to shop around for a fresh face. The Tigers are now looking at Jason Forte, brother of former Boston Celtics and Seattle Supersonics guard Joseph Forte.

Coca-Cola coach Bo Perasol told Standard Today that Forte is now in town, trying out for a spot in the team.

“He agreed to come here and paid his own travel ticket just to tryout for a spot in the team,” said Perasol on Forte. “There’s no guarantee yet. We will evaluate him.”

just my 2 cents. alaska is really good in developing big man. imagine sno makakaisip nun sa trade na alipeek john arigo for hugnatan cariaso kahit snong fan nagulat sa lugeng trade ng alaska na un. but that proved them wrong. hugnatan can dribble with his right and left hand spin left or right finish with right or left. a perfect bigman! sno makakaicip neto??

MOTIVATE MADAMI. pero dinevelop ZERO. even mike holper walang matinong magawa. no outside shot. foul prone against alaska. his defense? just a natural defense like of any other bigman. dapat lang kasi 6'6 sya. pero scoring wise? and IQ ? di pa sa capacity ni thoss na alam lahat ng players san umiikot.. magiging good passer tong si eman pag sa alaska

Beermen hiring Freeman again

by Rey Joble

SAN Miguel Beer, a team loaded with firepower but lacks a player, who provides energy, is bringing back the energetic Gabe Freeman.

The 6’6” Freeman led the Beermen to the Fiesta Conference crown against sister team Ginebra Gin Kings in a record-drawing finale that went the distance. The returning import is also fresh from steering the Philippine Patriots to the Asean Basketball League championship.

San Miguel Beer coach Siot Tanquingcen believes the young reinforcement is the right guy for his team.

“We need an energy-type of guy and Gabe is certainly the kind of import we need,” Tanquingcen told Standard Today in a telephone interview. “We won’t go for someone, who will fight for a spot in terms of scoring, but someone willing to do the dirty job, so we’re counting on him.”

San Miguel Beer lost to the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants in their battle for the last finals seat, bowing down in six games. Trailing 1-2 in the series, the Giants won the next three games en route to the championship round.

There will really be changes. Maybe minor or to some extent major one if makikinabang naman ang team sa players na pwedeng makuha.

Actually, before Eman transfered to Alaska he was about to be re-routed to a sister team via Air21.

So from that, alam na natin may changes naka abang. Baka maiba lang timpla ng players ngayon.

Lets put it this way:

1st, everything's possible.

But, to say that Alapag & Cardona already signed with the Beermen according to that facebook report is unbelievable.

2nd, How can they sign a contract with the Beermen if they still have live contracts with their mother team? How can they transfer to other teams when there's no official trade yet?

3rd, The season is not yet over for the Beermen, not until tomorrow. So technically, they're still covered by the trading deadline of the season.

Not exactly! It doesnt mean may trade talks e tinitrade ang players.

Pwedeng ibang teams ang nag ooffer.

But nobody in the PBA is untouchable except maybe the Top player/s in the league.

Kung halimbawa ba naman i-offer syo si Willie Revillame kapalit ni Bayani Agbayani hindi kaba papayag? You know what i mean...
